Somewhere along the way, being productive or busy turned into staring at 14 tabs, 3 Teams threads, 2 Zoom calls, and a breaking news banner screaming that the world is on fire... again.
And then sometimes life throws you a curveball; not a gentle reminder, but a hard one. The kind that forces you to get back to basics. Back to the things you actually enjoy. Back to what quietly works.
Remember when a notification was just a knock on the door? When "refresh" meant stepping outside? When your wall had meaningful art on it, not a screen asking you to update?
There was a time when you could sit with a comforting mug of hot chocolate, read a good book, watch birds argue over a branch, admire butterflies doing their thing, and call it a good hour. Revolutionary behavior, apparently.
Maybe the antidote to burnout isn’t another app, meeting, or "urgent" email.
Maybe it's beautiful art on your wall.
A fireplace.
The scent of flowers.
A moment of stillness.
Or doing something generous and thoughtful for someone who needs it. No notifications, no applause.
Just a thought before your next alert interrupts this thought. Smile again :)
